Fire at Silver Lake Target store forces evacuations of apartment units above

SILVER LAKE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Crews are investigating what sparked a fire at a mix-used apartment and commercial building in Silver Lake overnight.

The fire was reported around 1 a.m. Monday on Dillon Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Firefighters arrived to find smoke pouring from a Target store, which sits on the first level of the building.

The flames were contained to the commercial part of the building, but nearly 50 apartment units that sit above the store were evacuated.

Everyone made it out safely and no injuries were reported.
