Garfield High School in East LA evacuated due to law enforcement activity near campus

EAST LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Garfield High School in East Los Angeles was evacuated Monday morning due to law enforcement activity near campus.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the evacuation was triggered as a precaution as a law enforcement agency served a search warrant at a home nearby.

All students and staff members were safely transferred to Griffith Junior High School. Meantime, people are being asked to stay away from the 400 block of Vancouver Avenue.

Meantime, LA Metro says Line 258 buses will be detoured until 5 p.m.
