Goat and donkey share unbreakable bond

VACAVILLE, Calif. (KABC) -- When Mr. G arrived at Animal Place Sanctuary in Vacaville, he was inconsolable.

Mr. G, a goat saved from a hoarder, lies down in Animal Place Sanctuary in Vacaville in this undated file photo.

The goat, which was rescued from the home of a hoarder in Southern California, refused to eat and only moped around. Volunteers couldn't quite figure out why he was so sad until they learned Mr. G had a long lost friend -- a small donkey named Jellybean.

Jellybean, the donkey, was separated from his goat best friend.

The female burro grew up with Mr. G. But when they were rescued, the two best friends were sent to different sanctuaries.

Animal Place quickly acted. A volunteer drove 14 hours round trip to bring the pair back together. After being reunited, Mr. G was back to his lively self and finally decided it was time to eat.

Mr. G and Jellybean run together.

The sanctuary has no intention of ever separating them again. Animal Place says neither animal will be put up for adoption and will live out the rest of the lives together at the sanctuary.
