NEW YORK (KABC) -- "Star Wars" actor Harrison Ford is on the mend after an on-set accident sent him into surgery for a broken leg.
The 71-year-old was injured about a week ago during the filming of sequel "Star Wars: Episode VII" outside London. A spacecraft door fell on Ford's leg. Early reports said the star injured his ankle.
Disney has said shooting will continue while Ford is in rehabilitation. He may be out of commission for up to two months.
Ford's publicist said the actor is doing well and is looking forward to returning to work.
Disney is the parent company of ABC7.
