Harrison Ford's injury to halt 'Star Wars' for 2 weeks

NEW YORK (KABC) -- Harrison Ford's leg injury will halt production on "Star Wars: Episode VII" for two weeks.

The 71-year-old actor broke his leg during a shooting in June at Pinewood Studios near London, England. A spacecraft door on the Millennium Falcon allegedly fell on Ford's leg.

Disney had previously said Ford's injury would not cause any delays, but announced Sunday that shooting would be postponed next month to adjust the production schedule.

Fans should not worry. Officials say "Episode VII" is on track to finish shooting in the fall with a release date set for December 2015.

Disney is the parent company of ABC7.
