High surf, dangerous rip currents keeping local lifeguards busy

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Thursday was another busy day for Los Angeles County lifeguards as they kept watch on swimmers and dangerous rip currents from their towers and on their boats.

Lifeguards say the high surf and rip currents pose an extreme risk to anyone planning on swimming or surfing in the area. On Tuesday, lifeguards rescued more than 400 people.
