The first of the two break-ins occurred at a Studio City house around 11 p.m. Sunday night. Police say suspects tried to break into the house while people were inside.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, shots were fired at the residence, and the burglary suspects ran away. No injuries were reported.
The incident is currently under investigation. It's not clear how many suspects were involved.
Another attempted burglary occurred around midnight Monday morning when two suspects tried to break into a home in Sherman Oaks.
According to the LAPD, no one was at home at the time of the break-in, but the homeowner, who was out of the country, received an alert from their home security system.
Detectives are still investigating what, if anything, was taken.

Locals say they are concerned following the string of burglaries in San Fernando Valley neighborhoods.
"I think we're all pretty surprised because we're very comfortable in this neighborhood. I'm never concerned about my safety," said Natalie Posner, a Studio City resident. "I think it's pretty surprising to everybody that there are frequent break-ins right now."
Some residents expressed frustration that there doesn't seem to be a way to secure themselves against the recent burglaries.
Lola Viera, a Valley Village resident, said, "Obviously I'm concerned because I don't want to be a victim to something like this, nor do I want my neighbors to be, but I'm not really sure what the answer is because it seems like locking your doors and security hasn't been enough."
