MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A person is dead after a Mercedes-Benz SUV slammed into a Manhattan Beach laundromat on Tuesday night.
AIR7 flew over the scene shortly after 9 p.m., where the vehicle was seen smashed into the front of the Suds & Duds laundromat in the 900 block of Aviation Boulevard near 10th Street. Manhattan Beach police and fire first responders were seen gathered at the scene.
A black tarp was set up in front of the shattered windows to block the sight of the body inside the business.
Witnesses say the Mercedes-Benz SUV suddenly jumped the curb, slamming into the front of the laundromat. The witnesses say the person who was killed was inside the business at the time of the crash, but Manhattan Beach police have not confirmed that detail.
There was no word from Manhattan Beach police on whether or not the driver was taken into custody.
