WOODLAND HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- An investigation is underway following a home invasion that involved multiple suspects in Woodland Hills and subsequent arrests in North Hollywood.

The Los Angeles Police Department says that up to seven men entered a home in the 22900 block of Calvert Street through a back door at about 5 a.m. Thursday.

They were wearing masks and gloves, and left in two cars, before police arrived, LAPD said.

Dark security video shows the thieves rushing out of the home carrying a bag of stolen items.

Neighbors like Peggy, who has lived in the area for more than 40 years, says that she is annoyed.

"It bothers me we have so many robbers, or crooks, whatever you want to call them, running around," she said.

Neighbors say the home in Thursday's incident was a short-term rental property.

LAPD's Homicide Division enlisted the help of the Metropolitan Division SWAT and Gang and Narcotics Division detectives to help with this investigation, which eventually led them to execute a search warrant at a home in North Hollywood, the agency said.

Multiple people were detained after police and SWAT surrounded a luxury home on Kling Street around 1:30 a.m., according to LAPD. Video from outside the home shows at least three people being detained.

At one point, a neighbor told Eyewitness News off-camera that police were investigating a possible kidnapping. However, LAPD has since said that no kidnapping occurred.

No further details were available in Friday's arrests.

Thursday's incident also adds to a string of break-ins across the San Fernando Valley this year. Back in March, a family was zip-tied and shoved into a closet during a home invasion at a home on MacFarlane Drive.

In April, three men were charged with murder after breaking into a home and killing a man inside on De La Osa Street near Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

Police say no one was injured in Thursday's burglary, but won't say exactly how Friday's raid in North Hollywood is connected to that crime.
