405 Freeway fully reopens nearly 6 hours after pedestrian hit and killed in Sepulveda Pass

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- All lanes of the 405 Freeway southbound in the Sepulveda Pass have reopened nearly six hours after a deadly crash involving a pedestrian caused heavy traffic.

California Highway Patrol issued a Sigalert due to the fatal crash. A pedestrian who was exiting a vehicle was reportedly struck by a box truck around 1:55 p.m. Monday.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes between the Sepulveda Boulevard exit (Exit 59) and the Sunset Boulevard/Church Lane exit (Exit 57).



The Sigalert was canceled around 7:30 p.m. and all lanes of the freeway were reopened.



CHP said one arrest was made at the scene, but did not provide further details about who was arrested.
