SAN GABRIEL, Calif. (KABC) -- The Lunar Lantern Festival Returns to San Gabriel's Mission District on March 21 and 22.

The City of San Gabriel, in partnership with the World Journal Los Angeles, has announced the 2026 Lunar Lantern Festival, a vibrant two-day celebration taking place Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, 2026, in the city's historic Mission District.

Festival hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. This year's celebration honors the Year of the Horse with cultural traditions, spectacular lantern displays, food vendors, giveaways and festive family-friendly activities for all ages.

Since 2016, San Gabriel has proudly hosted its annual Lunar New Year Festival. Through its collaboration with WJLA and the TTA, the celebration has evolved into the Lunar Lantern Festival.

Inspired by Taiwan's world-renowned Lantern Festival, the event organizers promise an immersive cultural experience that blends tradition, community, and celebration in the heart of San Gabriel.
