LYNWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- The Lynwood woman who was robbed of a one-of-a-kind gold necklace while in her front yard is speaking out as sheriff's detectives search for the suspect.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. April 27 near Agnes Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. That's when authorities say the suspect approached the victim, pushed her and forcefully removed her gold necklace before fleeing in a white SUV - possibly a Buick Encore.

The victim, who spoke to Eyewitness News on the condition that we don't identify her, said she had the necklace made 15 years ago.

The day she was robbed, she said she was mowing her lawn when the suspect came up from behind her.

"His mom should be totally ashamed of him. He's around here doing things, and still walking around here in Lynwood, snatching off chains, running."

She said she's heard from other neighbors and friends that the man investigators are looking for has been seen around the neighborhood. She hopes detectives find the man who stole her necklace and that she gets it back.

"This is just terrible. He's a guy who has no morals. He's a coward and I just cannot stand people like that. And him, I really hate. I want him caught, I want him in jail and I want him away from society," she said.

The suspect is described as being 16-18 years old, with dreadlocked hair and wearing all black clothing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at (323) 568-4937.
