Bear cub spotted in tree near Crescenta High School
After about two hours, the cub climbed down the tree, went down the street about a block and climbed into a dumpster.
The cub rummaged in the dumpster for several minutes and then climbed out to explore a nearby powerline pole. The cub then climbed back into the dumpster for a few minutes.
The cub then started walking around in the neighborhood near Community Avenue. The mama bear also started walking around.
While the bears were exploring, law enforcement was in the area keeping an eye on the bears and residents to make sure they stayed out of each other's way.
After 5:30 p.m., law enforcement lost sight of the bears and cleared out of the area.
Officials said they were seen running toward the foothills and believe the bears will make their way back to the wilderness.
