Surveillance video from the business shows the chaos unfolding around 3:30 a.m. The suspect, who was identified as Frank Blessing, is first seen walking toward the front entrance of Donuts Plus on Erringer Road, picking up an object from a nearby table and violently slamming it onto the ground before walking away.
Moments later, he returns appearing agitated and repeatedly yanks on the shop's locked front door.
Video then shows the man getting into a Chevrolet Tahoe parked outside and crashing into the front entrance of the donut shop. He backs up and repeatedly rams the building, apparently attempting to force the vehicle inside.
Donut shop owner Heng Chaue said he was in the back making donuts when he heard the chaos.
"I didn't want to come out because I was scared," he said.
Officers arriving at the scene saw the Tahoe with major front-end damage leaving the area.
Police said Blessing refused to stop, leading officers on a short pursuit. Investigators said Blessing rammed a patrol vehicle before crashing into a wall at a nearby home.
Blessing faces multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, according to police.
A person who asked not to be identified told Eyewitness News that Blessing is a professional MMA fighter, though authorities have not confirmed that information.
