KOREATOWN, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect was arrested on suspicion of killing a man and a woman in two separate shootings in Los Angeles, triggering an investigation Wednesday.

The second shooting happened just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Berendo Street in Koreatown, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. A 38-year-old woman was found in a car with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Authorities say the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Marvin Magana, walked into the LAPD's 77th Division station to report a shooting and stated that his significant other had been shot.

Magana was taken into custody and booked for murder. He is being held on $3,000,000 bail.

Authorities later determined he was linked to another deadly shooting that occurred two miles away on Victoria Avenue in the Mid-Wilshire area around 4:30 p.m. the same afternoon.

According to police, the suspect intentionally struck a man on an e-bike with his car before fatally shooting him multiple times.

A couple who lives in the area told Eyewitness News off-camera that they were on their way home when they saw a driver in a sedan hit the victim. The wife said as they pulled over to try and help, they saw the driver back up in an apparent attempt to try and run the victim over again.

The couple says they saw the driver get out and pulled out a gun. When they realized what was happening, they drove away and called 911 multiple times but couldn't get a hold of a dispatcher.

The 43-year-old victim died at the scene.

Although investigators have linked the same suspect to both shootings, a motive for either has not been determined.
