A witness sent video to ABC7, which shows people scattering as a car is fully engulfed in flames.
The witness said a large group of people was gathered in the street for a fireworks display when some of the fireworks exploded too close to the ground.
Video from AIR7 shows the aftermath after the flames were extinguished. Debris was scattered all over the front yard and the street from the apparent explosion.
The witness who spoke to ABC7 was inside his mom's house when it happened, but heard the explosion and went running outside to see what happened.
"Out of nowhere, the floor shook. There was a humongous explosion. The explosion was so loud, it's what I would assume a gas line in a house blew up, and we looked just down the street, the plume of smoke that rose from the floor was equivalent to the size of the house," said Gabriel Gilmore. "So I ran quickly over there, and as soon as I arrived, you could see a car in shambles. Debris all over, across the street, everywhere."
Eyewitness News has reached out to the Chino Police Department and the Chino Valley Fire Department to confirm how many people were hurt.
