Luka Dončić donates $5K needed to restore defaced mural honoring Kobe Bryant, daughter Gigi in DTLA

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Luka Dončić donated the money needed to restore a mural honoring Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, that was defaced with graffiti in downtown Los Angeles.

The mural is located on the side of a building at the corner of 14th and Main streets. White and black graffiti now completely covers the artwork that was done in remembrance of Bryant and his teen daughter.



They both died, along with seven others, in a Calabasas helicopter crash in 2020.

The local artist who originally painted the mural is hoping to restore the artwork. Dončić donated the $5,000 needed to a GoFundMe account that was established to help restore the mural.



It's not yet clear who is responsible for the vandalism.
