Northbound 405 Freeway in Playa Vista shut down after police shoot robbery suspect following pursuit

PLAYA VISTA, Calif. (KABC) -- All northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway in Playa Vista were shut down early Friday after police shot a robbery suspect following a pursuit, authorities said.

Police said the incident began around 4 a.m. at a business on West Manchester Avenue. The call escalated into a pursuit that ended on the freeway, where the officer-involved shooting occurred.

The suspect's condition and identity have not been released.

The investigation prompted significant traffic disruptions in the area. Authorities diverted vehicles off the freeway at Howard Hughes Parkway, and several northbound on-ramps remained closed.

The freeway will remain closed for at least six hours, according to the CHP.
