Pedestrian struck, killed on 110 Fwy in South LA prompts hourslong closure of northbound lanes

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed on the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles, prompting the closure of several northbound lanes which backed up traffic for miles Thursday morning.

The incident was reported just before 6 a.m. at Manchester Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. Details about what led up to the crash were limited.

AIR7 was over the scene where traffic was backed up for miles, snarling the morning commute.

The three center lanes were closed until just before 9:30 a.m.
