NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- It's a battle of the sexes for the ages.

When two complete opposites, Felix and Doris, are forced to live together, both are embroiled in turmoil in the classic romantic comedy "The Owl and the Pussycat."

XAALA Productions will stage a limited engagement of the Bill Manhoff classic this weekend at The Rosalie Theatre at Theatre 68 Arts Complex, in North Hollywood.

"What makes it fun is the chaos between them," co-star Azena Garcia said.

At its root is a story about connection, loneliness, and what happens when two people truly learn to see each other beyond their judgements.

Garcia brings life to Doris - bold, emotional and wholly authentic - against Nick Goodreau's portrayal of the structured intellectual, Felix.

Despite debuting on Broadway more than 60 years ago, Garcia said the show is still as rich and relevant today.

"The way people judge and misunderstand each other hasn't changed," Garcia said. "Felix and Doris come from completely different worlds, but they're both yearning to be seen, understood, and loved, and we still struggle with that today."

Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Directed by Matt McLaughlin. "The Owl and the Pussycat" is presented in collaboration with First Lamb Productions.

Rosalie Theatre is at 5112 Lankershim Blvd., in North Hollywood.
