HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- There will be some big changes for the Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach this weekend due to the U.S. government shutdown.

The Air Force Thunderbirds were set to appear in the skies, but organizers now say no U.S. military assets will take part in the weekend-long event.

"We're really disappointed about that, but at the same time we're very excited about our lineup," said Kevin Elliot with the Pacific Airshow. "... Not only are we disappointed, and our fans are disappointed, but I know the military teams are disappointed as well because they look forward to being here."

This year's show will feature the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, Royal Air Force Falcons from the U.K., Aaron Fitzgerald flying the Red Bull BO-105 and much more.

The welcome ceremony, which had been scheduled for 12 p.m. Friday at Joint Forces Training Base, was also canceled as a result of the shutdown.

The Pacific Airshow runs from Friday through Sunday.
