PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- It was a gathering of future journalists, more than 20 years in the making.

Hundreds of Pasadena High School students got the chance to connect with ABC7 during the revival of their annual career day Wednesday.

The Bulldogs welcomed more than 50 career professionals and volunteers to the quad for an afternoon of inspiration and empowerment.

Eyewitness News anchor Marc Cota-Robles surprised students with a takeover of their morning announcements, just before classes let out for lunch.

Minutes later, a flood of students spilled outside, stopping along resource tables for a glimpse at future career possibilities.

At table 11, Cota-Robles stamped career day passports as he shared more on his career, possible courses of study, and what life is like for those who gather and report the news.

It was the school's first career day in more than two decades.
