LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Paula Patton has filed for divorce from Robin Thicke, despite the singer's public pleas to Patton to get back together.
The 38-year-old actress filed divorce papers on Oct. 3 in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.
Patton and Thicke have a 4-year-old child together. The actress requested joint legal and physical custody of the boy. There was no mention of spousal support.
The couple had announced in February that they were separating after about nine years of marriage. They began dating when they were teens.
Thicke, 37, made several reconciliation pleas to Patton during public appearances to promote his latest album, "Paula."
