DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A pedestrian was listed in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and run driver in Los Angeles early Sunday.
The incident occurred near East Washington Boulevard and Naomi Avenue at about 4:45 a.m. Police located the victim lying in the roadway suffering from major head injuries.

A witness told police she heard screeching tires and a thud. The driver of the vehicle stopped momentarily, but then took off. A description of the vehicle was not released.
