Person killed in hit-and-run crash at Van Nuys intersection

VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man was taken into custody after a deadly hit-and-run crash at at a busy intersection in Van Nuys, according to police.

The crash was reported shortly after 10 p.m. Monday in the area of Sherman Way and Sepulveda Boulevard.

Crime-scene tape blocked off the intersection, where a white canopy covered the victim's body.

The 40-year-old suspect was taken into custody a few hours later in North Hollywood after he was stopped by officers who noticed damage to his car.

The victim has only been identified as an adult man. Details on what led to the crash were not immediately available.
