PHOTOS: Dogs pose with human-like expressions

Can dogs feel happy? Depressed? Courageous?

German photographer Ralph Hargarten's project "A Dog's Life" captures dogs seeming to portray a wide range of emotions.

Hartgarten has been working on the project since 2013 and continues to add new faces of animals.

"It seems he captures personalities of his subjects," said a spokesperson of Hartgarten, adding that the interpretation of these personalities is up to the viewer.

"We see what we want to see, reflecting our human emotions into the face of a portrayed animal."



The photos were part of a Berlin exhibition in September.
