WEST HOLLYWOOD (KABC) -- A piglet that was spotted scampering through a West Hollywood neighborhood could be put up for adoption if its owner does not come forward.

The critter was spotted in a now viral video that's got neighbors on Laurel Avenue squealing with wonder over their pint-sized neighbor.

"I've seen a lot of things in the neighborhood, but I've not seen a pig," said resident Linda Mangini.

It's unclear how the black and white pig got loose on Saturday. A man on an e-bike who chased after it captured the video as the pig ran along the street and past cars.

Meanwhile, the pig's owner remains a mystery. But Wilbur - as the piglet has now been dubbed - is in the care of the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter.

The shelter says the piglet is 17 pounds and only about 11 weeks old. It's owners have until Thursday morning to come forward before he's offered up for adoption.

Anybody interested would have to demonstrate their home would be suitable to house the pig.

When asked if she would be interested, Mangini said: "Probably not. But would love to have a pig in the neighborhood."
