The group took over several of the northbound lanes of the freeway around 4 p.m. near Los Angeles Street. The group then moved and staged their protest on the freeway overpass and later marched to L.A. City Hall.
They stayed along the steps of city hall for several minutes before ultimately dispersing around 5:30 p.m.
Tensions over the Israel-Hamas war have been high across the country, particularly on campuses, and spiked in recent weeks with a wave of pro-Palestinian tent encampments that led to thousands of arrests nationwide.
Last week, nearly a month after counterprotesters attacked a pro-Palestinian encampment at the UCLA campus, police announced their first arrest, detaining an 18-year-old who is not a student or affiliated with the school in any way.
