Robbery attempt at South LA taco stand ends in shooting, police say

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Gunshots were fired during an attempted robbery at a taco stand in South Los Angeles, leaving at least one person injured.

The incident unfolded around 10:15 p.m. Monday near Century Boulevard and Hoover Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A suspect was trying to rob someone at the taco stand when two other people tried to help. That's when investigators say the suspect opened fire.

At least one person was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

Police are still searching for the suspect.
