San Francisco Animal Care and Control officers are now asking the public to help them track down the man accused of abusing the critter.
The shocking security footage, posted Tuesday morning on X by the animal shelter, happened in the Mission Terrace neighborhood.
Video shows the man run toward the raccoon and stoop down with the blowtorch in his hand. The raccoon escapes, but it's unclear what injuries it may have suffered.
The agency says they have more video evidence that appears to show the raccoon injured.
