In a statement announcing his endorsement Friday, Schiff highlighted the mayor's leadership in securing funding for the city and rebuilding after the January 2025 wildfires.
He also said that Bass "has worked to improve public safety, reduce crime and homelessness, and create new affordable housing. I am grateful to have such a strong local partner in Karen Bass, and proud to support her re-election as Mayor."
Schiff is one of many public figures to endorse Mayor Bass including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, civil rights leader Dolores Huerta and Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna.
