The deadly crash was reported just before 6 a.m. on the eastbound lanes near Winnetka Avenue.
It appears the pedestrian's body somehow flew over the K-rail and landed on the westbound lanes.
The first two lanes on both sides were temporarily shut down, but traffic was being let through the far right lanes. All lanes reopened just before 10 a.m.
It's unknown what led up to the crash or how the pedestrian ended up on the freeway.
