The incident was reported around 7:15 a.m. at a home on the 14600 block of Rex Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found a husband and wife suffering from gunshot wounds. The man died at the scene, and the woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Details about the shooting were limited, but police said the call came out as a family dispute. The couple's two teenage children were in the house at the time and one of them heard the noise and called 911.
"They seem to be nice people but I don't know... what's going on. It's kind of sad to hear that, especially because they were living here for a long time," a neighbor who did not wish to go on camera told Eyewitness News.
No other information about the suspect was available.
