LOS ANGELES -- Modern dating and a groundbreaking app make the perfect match in "Swiped," the story of Bumble and its founder's rise to billionaire status.

The film premiered at the 50th annual Toronto International Film Festival, where cast and filmmakers gathered to celebrate the debut.

Lily James, who stars as Whitney Wolfe Herd, was joined at the premiere by Jackson White, Ben Schnetzer and Myha'la.

Director and writer Rachel Lee Goldenberg, producers Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay, and executive producer Gala Gordon were also in attendance.

"Swiped" will follow Wolfe's journey from recent college graduate to a tech entrepreneur who broke into a male-dominated industry to launch two innovative dating apps. The story includes her time as a Tinder co-founder and the events leading up to Bumble's public offering in 2021.

A new trailer reveals the tension between tech CEOs and Wolfe Herd's introduction of a new Bumble feature that would change the app forever.

"Swiped" premieres September 19 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
