The feel-good diner Tallyrand is a Burbank community staple.
Karen Ross' parents named the restaurant after the Tallyrand soup at their favorite hotel, the Saint Francis.
"I believe that maybe they were a martini or two in and decided this would be a great name for a restaurant, because they were really young," Ross said.
The restaurant features a cinnamon roll French toast that employees and diners say is "to die for."
Plus, don't miss out on their breakfast burritos and the tasty turkey melt.
The spot's biggest hit is the famous Tallyrand turkey dinner.
For $30, you get a big plate of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, candied yams, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.
It's offered daily, and on Thanksgiving Day, the lines to dine in and take out circle the block.
"A lot of people don't have the traditional family of eighteen people at home doing Thanksgiving dinner," said Katie Ross, Karen's daughter and the restaurant's general manager. "So, they come here."
Whether you're a regular at Tallyrand, or a first-time customer, this Thanksgiving, Tallyrand staff are thankful for you.
"We have people who come in and really find community here," Katie said. "I find that really special. It's kind of what made me want to come back to just keep the legacy going."
Tallyrand is open every day of the year, closing only for Christmas.
On Thanksgiving, doors open at 11 a.m.
If you order for takeout, staff say patrons start lining up as early as 7 a.m. But once you order, your dinner should be ready in 10 minutes.
You can also dine in.
