TEMECULA, Calif. (KABC) -- An animal sanctuary in Temecula needs some help of its own as it outgrew its current space and needs funds for a new location.
Villa Chardonnay is becoming one of the largest non-profit animal rescue groups in Southern California, but the 10-acre property is getting too small to care for over 200 animals.
The non-profit has taken in stray and homeless animals for the past seven years. Their cage-free facility also provides a permanent home for animals that were destined for slaughterhouses and others that have special medical needs.

Founders Monika Kerber said they are hoping to expand and move to a property in San Diego County that's over 40 acres.
In order to finalize the purchase and transport the animals, paddocks and supplies, they need to raise $375,000 by Oct. 5.
