Toddler dies after falling out of moving vehicle in Colton

COLTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A toddler died Thursday evening after falling from a moving vehicle in Colton, according to police.

The incident was reported just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of South Mount Vernon Avenue and Centerpointe Drive.

Police said that when officers arrived, they learned a 1-year-old boy had fallen from a moving vehicle. The child was riding with his parent, according to investigators.

The boy was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.



The Colton Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team, along with its detective division, is investigating the incident. Police told Eyewitness News on Friday that no one has been arrested or detained.
