The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Vista del Rio Apartments on Memory Lane near Garden Grove Boulevard when the driver of a minivan lost control and crashed into the apartment, according to police. A witness said the driver was speeding and crashed into the apartment.

Authorities said the woman was sitting on her couch, watching television, before she became pinned underneath the van.
Police say that driver fled the scene, along with a possible passenger, and a search is now underway.
Another woman, who is believed to be the victim's caretaker, was also taken to the hospital though her condition is unknown.
The driver fled the scene on foot and has not been located.
"To think that they took off and not take responsibility, it's just inexcusable, unforgivable," said Elizabeth Fuller, whose daughter lives in the community.
On Tuesday, crews worked to stabilize the Vista del Rio building, which provides housing for adults with developmental and physical disabilities.

"They need to do something here," said Neal Sullivan, whose son lives in the apartment complex. "I'm scared for the people that live in the front. My son was going to be on the second floor but we moved him further back."
As police continue to investigate, residents said this is the fourth time a car has crashed into the building.
"Sometimes, I see cars speeding through red lights and stuff but not to try to get in here, but this is worse than it's been," said resident Trevor Kemp. "I'm afraid one of these apartments could catch on fire if a car goes through it or makes it more worse than it already is."
Safety bollards have been installed in the past to make the area safer and officials are looking to add more.
