SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Two women have died after being ejected from a car on the 110 Freeway southbound in South Los Angeles.
The vehicle veered off the road around 1 a.m. Thursday, striking a tree, causing the car to overturn and eject the two females in the car. The females were then run over by another vehicle driving down the 110 southbound.

The initial crash involved only the one vehicle, a Nissan 4-door, and occurred near Gage Avenue in South L.A.
The driver who ran the two females over is cooperating with investigators.

Whether the crash was a DUI is not confirmed.
Only one lane was open on the 110 southbound in the area of the crash, but all lanes reopened at around 6:30 a.m.
