Man found shot to death inside car in Tujunga; police investigating as homicide

Police told Eyewitness News no weapons were found in the car.

TUJUNGA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man was found shot to death in Tujunga early Tuesday morning, and police say it's being investigated as a homicide.

The man was found inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head along Foothill Boulevard, according to police. The body was discovered around 12:45 a.m. by a bicyclist in the area.

The car, a 2003 Toyota, was parked in the 8100 block of Foothill Boulevard in front of the Monte Vista Estates mobile home park.

LAPD Capt. Jeff Hollis told Eyewitness News no weapons were found in the car.

"Once the department personnel got here, they were able to confirm it was a gunshot wound, apparently to the head," said Hollis.

One witness who spoke to Eyewitness News off camera said he heard a gunshot around 9:30 p.m. Monday and noticed an old, tan-colored car speed away from the area.

Investigators are now turning to surveillance video from surrounding businesses, hoping to find more clues.



The victim's name has not been released. Police say he was a 51-year-old Palmdale resident.

No suspects have been named in the case.
