Verizon call routing issue causes brief outage across California

According to a tweet posted by the Verizon Support Twitter account, the company is aware of a problem and called it a "statewide outage" in a reply to a customer.

CALIFORNIA (KABC) -- Verizon customers across California saw disruptions in service Tuesday afternoon after a call routing issue impacted many parts of the state, the company said.

Many customers took to Twitter to report the interruptions, saying some calls weren't going through.

A statement sent to Eyewitness News said a call routing issue this afternoon led to interruptions and engineers have since resolved the issue.

They said anyone who continues to have issues should restart their phone.
