HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Madame Tussauds' premiere of their Hollywood Rooftop Bar and Restaurant offers guests an opportunity to grab dinner and drinks with their favorite wax celebrities.

The world-famous exhibit is branching out by offering a unique dining experience perched above the wax museum on Hollywood Boulevard, without needing to purchase attraction tickets.

A ribbon cutting ceremony unveiled the latest tinseltown eatery in true Hollywood fashion and has many people buzzing.

"It is just a cool bar and restaurant, but what makes it special is the fact that you can come here and dine with wax figures. It's the only place that's a guaranteed celebrity sighting with icons both from past and present Hollywood," general manager Tom Middleton said.

The new restaurant offers the perfect star studded escape from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, all while rubbing shoulders with figures like Will Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio.

"The idea behind the Hollywood rooftop by Madame Tussauds is to be able to provide American cuisine and international cuisine. A little bit of comfort food for everybody with an upscale twist," Shirlie Belloso said, executive chef of the restaurant.

Madame Tussaud's has been in business around the world for more than a century and for 15 years in the heart of Hollywood without ever opening a restaurant until now.

"Especially post pandemic, having businesses open new things, and especially long-standing businesses, having a new addition and a new attraction is great for tourism and also the community," said Chloe Kim of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
