An incredible water rescue in an Oxnard flood channel was caught on video as a strong storm drenched most of Southern California.

A dog was stranded on a small collection of debris right at the end of a strong current Tuesday, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.

Firefighters responded and extended a 35-foot ladder to grab the pup and bring it back to dry land.

The dog, believed to be a 3-year-old female pub or French bulldog, was not harmed. She did not have a tag on her collar and was not micro-chipped.

She is now in the care of Ventura County Animal Services. Officials hope her owner comes forward to reclaim her. If nobody does, she will be put up for adoption.
