LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A woman was arrested on suspicion of fleeing the scene after hitting a jogger in Playa Vista in 2014, authorities said Wednesday.

Brittnee Crawford, 26, faces charges of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run. Authorities were able to identify her through witness statements and physical evidence that was gathered two years ago.

"The detectives were unable to locate the suspect, but did not give up, continued to press this case," LAPD Capt. Robert Long said.

In January 2014, 62-year-old Paul Grover was struck and killed by a driver while he was jogging near Lincoln Boulevard and LMU Drive. Witnesses said at the time that Crawford stopped at first to try and help Grover, but eventually fled the scene.

Witnesses also told authorities she appeared to be highly intoxicated. Before striking Grover, the driver in the vehicle struck a pole.

Crawford's boyfriend, Joshua Walker, was also arrested and accused of giving detectives false information during the investigation into the hit-and-run.

Investigators said Crawford was traveling between Southern California and Las Vegas for work, which made the search efforts to find her a little more difficult.

"We don't give up on these cases. We are going to come after you and you will be held accountable for the actions that you take," Long said.
