At least five people were hospitalized with serious injuries. Nine people reported minor injuries.
The building houses The Bougie Crab restaurant.
Home security video captured the moment the bus hit the side of the sedan and then slam into the restaurant.
Police say the driver of the sedan was traveling at a high speed, went through a stop sign at the intersection and then collided with the bus.
Both the bus and sedan plowed into the restaurant. The sedan erupted in flames as crews pulled the mangled wreckage from the building.
Redin Rana and other residents nearby ran outside after hearing the crash. He said he saw about 10 to 20 people exit the bus.
The restaurant, which was featured on Eyewitness News a year ago, was closed when the crash happened.
The crash caused extensive damage, and residents living above the restaurant were forced to evacuate their homes.
Detectives continue to go over the wreckage and collect evidence.
South Street was closed in both directions.
It wasn't clear if the injured people had been in one of the vehicles or around the building.
