Dozens of agencies offering aid at LA fire assistance center

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- In the wake of all the fires over the past week, the city of Los Angeles has opened a local assistance center to help those affected get back on their feet.

The center is focused on helping those L.A. residents affected by the Creek, Skirball and Rye Fires.

Dozens of agencies have set up tables offering assistance in getting back on their feet.

"We have everybody here from the city, county and state as well as non-profit agencies," said Kate Hutton of the city's Emergency Management Department.

The center is set up at the Lake View Terrace Recreation Center. It's open through Friday, noon to 8 p.m. The center will also be open Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
