Hailstorm drops heavy rain, large hail in parts of SoCal

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Residents across Southern California witnessed heavy pockets of rain, hail and even lightning Friday afternoon as a sudden storm moved through region.

Around 3:30 p.m., a hailstorm was reported just east of Mission Viejo in Orange County.



The storm brought gusty winds and even pea-size hail.

One viewer in Riverside captured back-to-back lightning strikes.



It was a similar scene across Southern California last Thursday when a thunderstorm moved through northern and central Los Angeles County.

ABC7 viewers reported seeing hail the size of quarters falling in their neighborhoods.
