New details emerge in violent SoCal kidnapping that triggered Amber Alert for 1-year-old

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. (KABC) -- A man and his parents have been arrested following a violent kidnapping involving a 1-year-old in the City of Industry that set off an Amber Alert over the weekend.

Prosecutors are considering multiple felony charges against 20-year-old Dragan Antonescu and his parents, identified as 48-year-old Viorel Ilie and 40-year-old Marioara Ilie. They include kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The suspects are accused of assaulting Antonescu's estranged girlfriend in the parking lot of a Target store on Sunday, and kidnapping her young son, Enzo, at knifepoint.

Authorities said the woman, who has not been identified, had to be taken to the hospital for her injuries from the alleged assault.

The incident triggered an Amber Alert, but the suspects and child were eventually found in Winslow, Arizona. The child was not harmed.



The Department of Children and Family Services is working to coordinate Enzo's return to California. The suspects are also awaiting extradition back to L.A. County.
