SILVERLAKE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police are investigating a possible swatting incident at a Silver Lake nightclub after reports of a shooting and a bomb threat prompted a large police response and forced clubgoers into the street overnight.

The incident happened at Los Globos on Sunset Boulevard.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers initially received a call reporting shots fired around 12:30 a.m. A second call reporting a possible bomb at the popular nightclub came in just after 1 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found no evidence of a shooting or a bomb, police said.

Witnesses told Eyewitness News they were at the venue for a popular streamer's birthday party when the scene turned chaotic. One witness described confusion as law enforcement arrived and people rushed outside.

"We just got swatted, they were just trying to push us out ... everything got into a whole mess. Everybody started having conflict with each other," said one clubgoer.

"I was just in there, just walking around, doing my stuff, and then out of nowhere, the chopper comes out, he starts shining the light and then a lot of cop cars start coming in, and I think he got swatted," said another witness.

Police have not officially confirmed whether the incident was a case of swatting. What is known, authorities said, is that a large crowd gathered outside the nightclub as the investigation unfolded in the early morning hours.

Police issued a dispersal order, and people left the scene around 2 a.m. No one was detained, authorities said.

The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to gather information.
