BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- A repeat sex offender out on parole was arrested again Tuesday at a popular shopping center in Burbank, according to police.

Calese Carron Crowder, 38, was taken into custody after officers received a report of a suspicious person loitering in the women's department of Nordstrom Rack located at the Burbank Empire Center.

He was later found at a nearby Walmart where police say he was seen following a female shopper through the store.

"While in the women's section, the suspect was observed following a female customer, crouching near her, and engaging in lewd behavior by inappropriately sniffing her buttocks," said police in a statement. "Given the nature of the behavior, officers made contact with the suspect and detained him for further investigation."

Crowder is a registered sex offender out on parole and has a documented history of similar arrests for lewd acts in both Glendale and Burbank dating back to 2021.

In 2023, Crowder made headlines for an alleged stalking incident captured on video.

Michaela Witter said she was stalked by Crowder at a Barnes and Noble bookstore in Burbank in August 2023.

Her TikTok video of the incident garnered millions of views.

In the video, Crowder is seen crouching down near Witter's legs. When Witter asked him what he was doing, he told her that he was tying his shoes.

She said it looked like he was smelling her from behind. Witter also accused Crowder of doing the same thing to another woman at the store.

The Burbank City Attorney's Office has filed one count of loitering with intent to commit a crime against Crowder regarding Tuesday's incident.

He remains in custody on $10,000 bail. Crowder is expected to appear in court on Aug. 1.
